Retail Models

Warning
Warning
Please fill up your Information based on SKU Models series (e.g. CECHAxx, CECH-25xx) and not with any regional SKU Models (e.g. CECHM03). Unlike PS4 devwiki, this wiki doesn't specify each regional release. If there are any exceptions, you can add them at the talk page, so this page stays clean as an overview for each series released (which was the goal by the way and the already listed Information handles probably 99.14587846% of all PS3 released). Thank you for attention.

  1. Datecode 1A: Use get_applicable_version.pkg to receive lower/upper UDP broadcasts or use fake lowverchk PUP to get it onscreen. If minverchk is 3.50, it is downgradable to 3.55. If minverchk is 3.56, it has metldr and fails downgrade to 3.55 with blackscreen and shutdowns in 1-2sec without blinking LEDs/beeps but it is hackable because you can install 4.xx MFWs by using 4.30 checkoff, which allows you to install without downgrading (requires Hardware Flashers)

PS3 SuperSlim Teardown

Note:The NPX-001, PPX-001, PQX-001, RTX-001 and REX-001 motherboard revisions all feature a 28nm die shrunk RSX packaged on a smaller substrate layer, which uses half the number of RAM chips of the previous 40nm design. In addition the CELL's substrate layer was reduced in size on the PPX-001, PQX-001, RTX-001 and REX-001 revisions, however the die size appears to have remained unchanged at 45nm.
