Description

This page is intended to document the actions taken by Sony when they perform official repairs to PS3 consoles.

General

  • OEM stickers are replaced; for regions that have dates/datecodes on them, they are updated accordingly.
    • For slim (and potentially super slim) models, an official "PlayStation refurbished" sticker is also applied.
  • The CELL BE run time counter is reset to zero.

COK-00x

  • CECHA/CECHB/CECHE: ZSSR539IA replaced with APS-226 (if it doesn't have one already)
  • BD-400 replaced with BD-410
  • Felt added to Blu-ray drive entry on top-most part of shell
  • Grey felt strip added under Blu-ray drive, replacing smaller grey fabric
  • CELL BE brace added
  • RSX replaced with a newer one
    • If the RSX is 65nm or 40nm, a sticker is added under the USB ports (40 for 40nm, F for 65nm) to indicate. Also the Syscon chip is replaced (with different programming) so that the PS3 can accept the smaller RSX
