Description
This page is intended to document the actions taken by Sony when they perform official repairs to PS3 consoles.
General
- OEM stickers are replaced; for regions that have dates/datecodes on them, they are updated accordingly
- For slim and super slim models, an official "PlayStation refurbished" or "Factory recertified" sticker is also applied
SKU Models
Fat/Phat
COK-00x
- RSX replaced with a newer revision
- If the RSX is 65nm or 40nm, a sticker is added under the USB ports (40 for 40nm, F for 65nm) to indicate
- The voltage regulator is modified as the RSX requires less power
- The Syscon chip is replaced (with different programming) so that the PS3 can accept the smaller RSX
- Syscon firmware will be updated to either F29 for 65nm RSX, or F38 for 40nm RSX
- This has the side effect of resetting the CELL BE run time counter to zero
- If the RSX is 65nm or 40nm, a sticker is added under the USB ports (40 for 40nm, F for 65nm) to indicate
The following are sometimes performed:
- CELL BE brace added
- BD-400 replaced with BD-410
- Felt added to Blu-ray entrance interior
- Grey felt strip added underneath BD-410, smaller grey fabric removed
