In the boards where this component is present (or his replacement upgraded versions) every stick has two pots (to meassure rotations of X and Y axis of that stick), and every pot has 2 pins that are carrying the signals related with the rotation of the axis (pin 1 and 2 of the pot). This signals are voltages, but there is also another pin of the pot that has an additional voltage (pin 3).
