It was cheaper than [[CECHAxx]] at the cost of having some removed features, such as a smaller hard drive, no WiFi module, and the flap was made a static part of the shell (no card readers). It also features a black trim instead of chrome on the shell, which is unique compared to all other retail Fat model designs.


It was later discovered it is possible to add a WiFi module from another console to the motherboard in order to restore WiFi functionality.
