Automatic Volume Limiter System (AVLS) is an option, enabled through software or hardware, that limits to 70% (21/30) the maximum volume level of the PS Vita.
This can prevent annoying sound from escaping from the headphones, discomfort in the ears, and the possible many deadly dangers resulting from being unable to hear what is going on around you when wearing headphones.
Select the checkbox to set a checkmark to prevent the volume from exceeding a certain level.
Depending on (manufacturing date/ date code?) model, when a total of 20 hours of playback is reached when this setting is off, the setting is automatically turned on.
- In some early (but not launch?) 2012 models (e.g. date code 2D), AVLS is automatically turned on at each boot.
