Boot Modes[edit | edit source]

Fastboot[edit | edit source]

Fastboot Mode allows you to use the Android fastboot utility. The screen will stay black in this mode. Almost no usual commands are accepted in fastboot mode.


Unlock Steps

  1. Turn off PS Portal
  2. Hold minus button
  3. Plug in USB cable with active power line

Recovery[edit | edit source]

Recovery Mode exposes 2 HID devices:

  • PS Controller
  • PS Link Audio Device

The screen will stay black in this mode.


Unlock Steps (Requires firmware 2.0.6 or lower)

  1. Follow the steps to boot into fastboot mode
  2. Use android fastboot tool to send the command "fastboot reboot recovery" to the PS Portal
