==Firmware installation without data loss==
To manually install a PS5 firmware, your will need a fat32 formatted thumb drive or HDD.
On your fat32 drive create a folder called PS5, inside that folder create a folder called UPDATE, inside that folder is where you will place the PS5UPDATE.PUP that you have downloaded from Sonys offical website and renamed.
* '''This will keep all data including games, save data.'''
* Download your current or later firmware file on your PC by visiting one of the sites (do not get full/recovery firmwares - get update firmware):
** https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5/system-software/ - Official Sony Site, '''will always going to be the latest firmware'''
** https://darksoftware.xyz/PS5/FWlist - DarkSoftware, can choose which firmware, faster download speeds but requires account creation. '''Note!: Do NOT download a lower firmware than current, it will NOT install.'''
** https://darthsternie.net/ps5-firmwares/ - Darthsternie's Firmwares, can choose which firmware, slower download speeds but no account needed. '''Note!: Do NOT download a lower firmware than current, it will NOT install.'''
* Unpack your archive and rename the file to '''PS5UPDATE.pup''' (must be in all caps).
* Prepare a USB stick drive by formatting it to FAT32 and creating a folder on the root of the drive named PS5 and another folder inside PS5 named UPDATE. Copy PS5PDATE.pup in the UPDATE folder.
* Final structure should look like this: '''PS5 > UPDATE > PS5UPDATE.pup'''
* Boot into PS5’s recovery settings by turning off the PS5 and holding the power button until it beeps 2 times. You should now be booted to Safe Mode.
* Plug the USB stick into an empty slot on your PS5.
* Select 3. Update System Software > 1. Update from USB Drive > OK > Update.
* The PS5 will now install the firmware while keeping everything on the HDD.
