ps3 remarry drive[edit source]
Hello you guys
I have a question about ReMarrying a BluRay drive logic board to a motherboard.
I know it can be done in some cases, but can anyone tell me the specifics?
I bought 2 ps3 phat models CECHC04 to replace the drives, switch the logic board off course, only to find that my working PS3 already had a different drive.
Ergo, I do not have the original Logic Board in my working PS3. I do have a working BD400 drive but the logic board will not work.
I read that in some cases it does not need to be remarried? But if i do need to remarry, can it be done with any firmware.
I do not own a hardware flasher but want to know if it can be done with an E3 card reader.

- You can remarry on 3.55 and lower with Remarry Bluray Drive, or if the unit has OtherOS+Linux installed with Remarry Bluray Drive on Linux
- You need remarry when changing either the motherboard+BD daughterboard, so as long those 2 are still kept and bound together, no remarry is needed, even if you replace the rest of the drive (e.g. sled, laser etc.)
- In your CECHC04 example, it would commonly have a BD-400 drive, with BMD-001 daughterboard, which is capable of driving a KES-400A laser and KEM-400AAA slide. see: Bluray Drive Revisions
- If your unit is now running a modified firmware, it can remarry or downgrade to 3.55 where the above documented remarry procedure can be used.
- If your unit is NOT running a modified firmware, and is currently on 3.56 or higher, you need a hardware flasher to get it modified or downgraded.
