This is a documentation subpage for Template:OldStyleDate (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Usage[edit source]
This template is used for displaying a date in both Old Style and New Style, including a discreet link to the article Old Style and New Style dates, in cases where the year is the same in both Styles.
{{OldStyleDate|NS day and month|year|OS day and month}}
If it helps you remember the order of the parameters, you may optionally choose to think of it like this:
{{OldStyleDate|NS day and month|NS year|OS day and month|OS year}}
Note that in this usage the fourth parameter will be ignored when the template is rendered.
Examples[edit source]
- Usage:
{{OldStyleDate|2 February|1905|20 January}}
- Result: 2 February [O.S. 20 January] 1905
- Usage:
{{OldStyleDate|February 2|1905|January 20}}
- Result: February 2 [O.S. January 20] 1905
