== Time for the PS5 Wiki Documentation ==
Miss RoxyWoxy, we have a good look at some of the components from the ps5 Teardown already, so it's time to set some things in the ps5 wiki (and create one if it doesn't exist)
* The APU Model Name is CXD90060GG
* We also have a good picture of the APU, so we can add it as well
* We also know the motherboard name (EDM-001) so we can add that as well
* We can also see one of the chip names if we look closely between transitions (next to the SSD description)

== Internal ==
A "wiki" is a '''open-collaborative''' encyclopedia for '''everyone''' while the content of this wiki specifically is available under the well-known [http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/fdl-1.2.txt "GNU Free Documentation License 1.2"].<br>Those two Guidelines are mandatory for every wiki running inside the Internet for all wikis outside there, yet even the non-profit Organization behind ''wikipedia.org'' is even running<br>with those two features up today since 2001.
Therefore it is impossible that one person claim a Page and/or an Article for his/her own by saying "this is *my* User Page" or something like "you can't edit *my* Talk Page",<br>by thinking one can post anything you want to like. It is both impossible from a '''technical''' standpoint, as well from a '''ethical''' one because no one *owns* a Page or an Article.
If one can't accept these two simple Guidelines, then a wiki is already 'doomed' before it has even launched!
== CAPTCHA problem when adding new links ==
I do not understand a wiki well, so I am not sure if it is a proper way of communication. I am here to report a problem with a CAPTCHA. I would like to add a link in the PS2 Compatibility List, but it shows me the message to solve the CAPTCHA. The problem is no CAPTCHA box does appear at all.

== Firmware versions displays simplifyed ==
I hope you like [[Special:Diff/57542/60263|this edit]], is something i been thinking [[Special:Diff/48828/49793|since many time ago]] but i was not sure how to do it, sorry for not advising you before doing the related wiki changes but yesterday i was doing the experiments and i was confident it was going to look nice. I think is a solid solution to the problem you have been suffering since months ago when you was doing a new image for every new firmware released, now thats not needed, we just need to update the texts in [[Template:latestPS5]], [[Template:latestPS4]], [[Template:latestPS3]], [[Template:latestPSV]], [[Template:latestPSP]], is a lot easyer because everybody can do it--[[User:Sandungas|Sandungas]] ([[User talk:Sandungas|talk]]) 14:48, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
* I like the idea but I think people tend to click on the Firmware syntax itself and not only on the PS logos, so I tried [[Special:Diff/60247/60293|this]] if it is ok for you, feel free to add it to the rest of the Firmwares, or otherwise revert my edit. [[User:Roxanne|Roxanne]] ([[User talk:Roxanne|talk]]), 13th July 2021 - 18:58 (GMT+1)<br>
Agreed, most people is going to click in the numbers instead of the images, i forgot about that detail while doing the experiments about trying to figure how to rebuild it. I reverted your edit in [[Template:latestPS5]] because i added the link in the [[Template:News]], also because is better to keep that templates the most simples posible, this way can be created other templates (if needed) to add more addons, e.g: <nowiki>[[{{latestPS3}}_CEX|{{latestPS3}}]]</nowiki> and call it <nowiki>[[Template:latestPS3wikipage]]</nowiki> (resulting in a internal link to page: [[4.88_CEX|4.88]]), or <nowiki><abbr title="latest version {{latestPS3}}">{{latestPS3}}</abbr></nowiki> and call it <nowiki>[[Template:latestPS3abbr]]</nowiki> (this is what the old <nowiki>[[Template:latest]]</nowiki> was doing, but that "abbr" should be considered a non-generic addon, and this kind of template with addons should be build "on top" of the basic <nowiki>[[Template:latestPS3]]</nowiki> and using a name derivated from it). Actually, when i was replacing the old <nowiki>[[Template:latest]]</nowiki> by the new <nowiki>[[Template:latestPS3]]</nowiki> in other pages i realized there was some that was using it that way. Returning to the [[Template:News]] changes... now the images have a link+description and the numbers have the link only, we could add the description to the numbers too with a <nowiki><abbr></nowiki> but this displays some dots at bottom that looks a bit weird, all and all the only flaw of the new firmware info boxes is that there is a "no clickable area" in between the image and the numbers but this is a very tricky problem. I been googling a bit and wikipedia have a template named literally [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Clickable_button Clickable button] but i went lost trying to figure how they did it, the current design we are using is open for that kind of improvements if some of you wants to play around with it and finds how to improve it go for it, after all i have not changed it much visually, is the same concept you did initially and i liked it. Btw, the same can be made in PS4 wiki and the other day i was reading about a tricky mediawiki feature that could be convenient for this case, is like a page transclusion from external wikis but the wiki that loads the page from the other wiki is updated with the page content of the other (it does a "copypaste" of the other page, i guess only if they differs), we could do that in between PS3 and PS4 wiki domains (not sure if also with the others). Last detail that worths to be mentioned is that it could be awesome if we find how to use this special transclusions to "grab" the firmware numbers from the the sony servers links and update the [[Template:latestPS5]], [[Template:latestPS4]], [[Template:latestPS3]], [[Template:latestPSV]], [[Template:latestPSP]] automatically with them, this way sony would be updating wiki on real time, ironic and awesome feature, or alternativelly, maybe we can grab them from a page in wikipedia or... dunno--[[User:Sandungas|Sandungas]] ([[User talk:Sandungas|talk]]) 12:07, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

== Frankenstein Mod article? ==
Hello it's me again <tt>:)</tt> I've been mulling over the creation of a Frankenstein Mod article on here. Recently I have been in contact with a seasoned Frankenstein Modder based in the UK (same place as me) and he has provided me with a lot of photos of his work. Notably, he's also Frank Modded non PS2 compatible models such as the CECHG with a 40nm RSX which I added [[SEM-00x#Pictures|here]], I plan to upload them for the other models soon too when I have time to go through the images.
He said that he has done and sold over a hundred of Frank Mod consoles without a single one returned as faulty, so I think he is a reliable source of information. I have first hand experience of his work as he brought back to life a YLOD CECHA00 that I sent him. He also thinks such an article on here would provide clarity to the process and concept, as you can imagine a lot of people ask him what it is/how it works and it would be good to have an easily accessible source of truth. I think you're the only active administrator on the wiki hence why I am asking you. Thoughts? If yes I'll be happy to construct the article while liaising with him, and other input is welcome. Thanks [[User:Daft|Daft]] ([[User talk:Daft|talk]]) 14:46, 11 February 2024 (CET)
* Hey, I really like the idea from both of you. In fact I remember about the story who someone used Slim parts built into a Fat Console. Funny detail is that even Sony did the same for [[SKU Models Nonretail#DECR_Series|non-retail]] consoles sent for repair or another service in the past. :) Your contact is welcome to register to this wiki as well and I can set up everything for him/her to make editing the wiki as easy as it is for you now. Personally I see two possibilities how we should handle this:
** Either we create a whole new (sub)category for such modded consoles within [[Hardware Modification]]
** or we update each [[Console Information|console SKU page]] within which types of Hardware are interchangeable and which not (kinda like a "'''PS3 Hardware Modding Compatibility List'''")
* Maybe we can discuss this on [https://discord.gg/K7fjFt3 Discord] as well [[User:Roxanne|Roxanne]] ([[User talk:Roxanne|talk]]) - February 11th 2024 - 17:50 GMT+1
:Hi, I've joined the Discord. I think my contact doesn't want to be too involved in the wiki side of things, but he's happy to relay information to me and I can write it up (I'm a seasoned wiki editor, not on this wiki but over 10 years on other wikis so I'm quite familiar with markup etc). I'll see what he thinks and we can take it from there. I may put a message in the Discord as well. [[User:Daft|Daft]] ([[User talk:Daft|talk]]) 00:54, 13 February 2024 (CET)
