Note: Sony after all, giving finally support for remote play on PC limits everything it could. Result into not being able to play games/run homebrew via RemotePlay. In theory it could be work-arounded by patching, after all.

|- | |- | ||
|} | |} | ||
=== Problems / workarounds / Tips ===
* officially RemotePlay compatible titles
** Nothing to fix :P | |||
* unofficially RemotePlay compatible BD titles
** Use the patch or edit the SFO
* unofficially RemotePlay compatible PSN titles
** Use the patch or edit the SFO and then rebuild database from recovery menu (second method has better compatibility)
* | * Incompatible RemotePlay titles
** Most of the BD games in this section will launch with black screen due of the introduction video (codecs or resolutions) , ps3 reboot after a while. Can be resolved if you change the problematic videos with an other.
** Homebrew like Frogger, puzzles collection don t function due to theirs authors decisions.
* | |||
* Officially Adhoc compatible titles
* | ** You can play online psp games through the AP mode of PS3 if you connect both of the devices to Playstation Network. In this case, PS3 is providing to the psp a wifi connection (not sure if this service is available outside Japan)
* To "refresh" the XMB | |||
When replacing a PARAM.SFO manually in the internall HDD (using a file manager, FTP, etc...), the system ignores it. This happens because the system is storing a "duplicated" copy of the old one
The most convenience and quick way is as simple as booting the game one time (by pressing X button over his icon)... inside the game press "PS" button and exit with "quit"... then you return to the XMB and the new PARAM.SFO has been loaded. So in resume... the XMB is refreshed when you boot it for first time so you need to boot it two times to load the new PARAM.SFO.
(you can change something as the first letter of the title of the game to make sur/ check visually your news sfo is loaded)
Other solution from BahumatLord (need to be tested for the specific case of remote play bout should work):
After replacing the PARAM.SFO of your PSN game with a corrected one, you need to change the available display modes in your PS3 settings to include 720 even though your TV doesn't support it.
Then you're going to launch the game. This will trigger the PS3 to read the corrected PARAM.SFO and to fix the entry in the database.
When the game starts the screen will be blurry and unplayable. Quit back to the XMB and restore your display's original settings.
The next time you load the PSN game it will display at 480 resolution and work like it should. Some TV's might support including 1080 when you edit the PARAM.SFO. I've just had better compatibility changing from PAL to NTSC instead of trying to upscale it.
If your new SFO is stil ignored by the PS3 after refreshing (mostly fews 3.55+ PSN games) or you can t boot it (TV not compatible, didn t installed the game in the right order, previous problematic SFO installed ....) or for easy shared solution purpose, you ll need to overwrite it with your 1.01 SFO from install .PKG (or install first the edited SFO)
Last solution can be rebuild data base by using the option "rebuild database" from the recovery menu (this re-indexes all the files in the internall HDD), is long but can fix rare problems
==Limitations== | |||
* | * requires a memory container of 8-10mb
** | * the remoteplay utility creates 14 PPU Threads upon its startup
* uses 1 SPU for encoding (mp4avc/aac needs more processing power than sp/atrac mode)
* display transfered is trimmed to 90% of its size (image will be resized to 480x272, no trim on 480p)
==PlayStation Vita's Remote Play capabilities==
During TGS 2011 Sony showed off a number of examples of how the new device can interact with the PlayStation 3:
* Killzone 3 and little big planet 2 were streamed into the device from a PlayStation 3 unit,
noting how a few of the Dual Shock buttons missing on the Vita are mapped to the touchscreen.
* A Vita streaming movie content from Japan-only PS3 TV recorder Torne.
Note: | |||
* it is possible to pair PSVita with a Playstation 3 on lower Firmware than 4.00 (e.g 3.41/3.55, pair as mobile phone/pc/psp)
