The EyeToy is essentially just a normal USB 1.1 camera in a case that matches the PS2's design language. It was quite popular and many games either optionally support or even require it. Several variants have been made by different manufacturers.
Variants
SLEH-00030 and SLEH-00031 follow the fat PS2's design language and were only available in black. SCEH-0004 follows the slim PS2s design language and was only available in silver.

Redesigned. Smaller, silver case. Manufactured by Namtai or Chicony (same model number for both manufacturers).
