Overview[edit | edit source]

Signal processor of the CD-electronics portion of the PlayStation.

Has 32K of internal RAM.

CXD2516Q and CXD2510Q additionally require an external servo IC (CXA1782BR, which also includes an RF-amp). CXD2545Q and newer have an internal servo controller and only need an external RF-amp.

For driving the sled motor, spindle motor, tracking coils and focus coils, each PlayStation also has a driver IC for this purpose with its signal inputs connected to the DSP.
