The BootLogo on PS Vita is displayed by SceDisplay of Kernel module.

BootLogo image is gzipped and embedded in the SceDisplay's text segment.

A module is located in os0:/kd/display.skprx. (this is encrypted!)

Also this BootLogo is full screen image (960x544).

To found it[edit | edit source]

Finds the next sequence of bytes in a text segment.

1F 8B 08 00 00 00

If it is found there will be many zeros after some random looking bytes.

It's a gzipped bootlogo!

On too old version[edit | edit source]

It appears that really old versions of the system, before the PS Vita was released, used zlib instead of gzip.
