Talk:Remarry Bluray Drive
<Pereb> On FW 3.50 you get Drive init FAIL. I don't know about 3.21-3.42. I downgraded to 3.15 myself for it to work [...] <Pereb> I was on FW 3.50. I did service mode. Put usb stick with cfg that had update enabled, and FW 2.30 PUP = drive init fail <Pereb> I downgraded to 3.15 via QA. Used the exact same remarry files = drive init pass

ps3 80gb remarry with new logic board key chip was destroyed??[edit source]
I am a total noob to this type of fix but I do have electronics background. what I want to know if somebody could explain it to me in laymen's terms. what type of jigs/dongles or what do I need to remarry my new logic board with the mother board. as stated the original key chip was destroyed. I like trying to figure these type of things out but all of you talk a language that I some what understand.also I have other ps3s but this is like a challenge to see if I can do it with the help of all of you. my system is a cheche01 80gb running 4.61 or whatever the latest firmware is. so any info would be great. e-mail me at [email protected] Thank you!!
You need a PSgrade/JIG, like listed here : http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:Downgrading_with_PSgrade_Dongle that will enable it into service mode on 3.55 firmware - so if it is now on 4.xx you also need a hardware flasher to first downgrade the console to 3.55.
